One of the trends we've been spotting recently is the use of marble, granite, and other natural stone work throughout the mid-scale business hotel properties. It really brings up the "class factor" a coupled of notches, but also presents some lighting challenges when capturing these images. The reflective surfaces are often placed along side more matte surfaces - such as the granite that runs into the orange fabric on the chairs.

We're able to overcome these obstacles by utilizing multiple exposure techniques and placing our lights at angles that pick up the detail of the surfaces, without providing direct glare that would interfere with the photo. Without lighting techniques such as this, there would be no way to produce images that show all the detail required to really tell the story in a visual manner.
