HOTEL: Fairfield Inn
LOCATION: New Braunfels, Texas
SUBJECT: Meeting Room
Meeting rooms shot well are a bit of an art on their own. Symmetry, balance, and propping come into play even more than guest rooms. These rooms are what I call "repetitive pattern" situations. A guest room will have many elements - bed, television, desk, window, and so forth. Meeting rooms are tables, chairs, tables, chairs, tables… well, you get the idea.
Creating depth and interest is done through lighting and lighting alone. Color and good furniture helps, but not lit properly, and these rooms become one big blob of the same old thing. Aside from the lighting, I have another thing working in my favor for this photo. Most meeting rooms tend to have white table cloths. I was blessed with blue here - and it helps with the visual interest and creates something a little more bold than the more traditional white or cream table dressings.
