SUBJECT: Hotel Lobby

Leave it to Residence Inn to walk the line of warm and comfortable, and trendy and cool. When I saw this lobby area to photograph, I was pretty excited. The open brick has an uneven and rustic texture to it, and I wanted to bring that out in the lighting. If we had lit that area with flatter lighting, it would have just looked like normal brick and not shown the area off in its true form. The hearth is warm and inviting - while playing against the blues, browns, and orange.

The common areas are pretty quiet in the day time - most guests are out enjoying Sea World or Six Flags. However, by nightfall most are back in time for the free evening food and drinks, and this very quiet lobby becomes packed full of hungry guests...
